ALEXANDRA LAMOTHE

Alexandra Lamothe began her legal career with a New Orleans defense firm, practicing mainly in the areas of maritime law and general civil litigation. She then became in-house counsel for a medical business, handling medical malpractice defense. Her interest in public health and the environment prompted her enrollment in Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She graduated in 2009 with a Masters degree in Environmental Health Sciences and Policy, with the school’s highest honors. She was consequently extended an invitation to join the Delta Omega Honorary Society, Eta Chapter, the public health honorary society of accredited schools and programs of public health. While practicing law full-time, Ms. Lamothe is also pursuing a PhD in Environmental Health Sciences and Policy at Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and will graduate in 2011, upon defense of her dissertation.

Ms. Lamothe focuses her practice in the areas of Environmental Law, Toxic Tort, Products and Premises Liability, and General Civil Litigation. Ms. Lamothe received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University’s Newcomb College in 1993, majoring in English. In 1998, she earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School.

Ms. Lamothe is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association and is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Inns of Court.

Ms. Lamothe lives in New Orleans with her husband and three children.
